1. Introductory provisions
- These Terms govern the rights and obligations of the Provider and Customers using StartupJobs, both upon entering StartupJobs and during its further use, as well as other related legal relationships. StartupJobs serves as a platform for advertising job offers focused on work in startups.
- When placing an Offer or otherwise using StartupJobs, the Customer is required to familiarise themselves with the current version of the Terms and to comply with the obligations arising therefrom. If the Customer acts on behalf of a legal entity, they may only do so if they are authorised to represent such legal entity.
- Part A applies to businesses only. By placing an order, the Customer confirms that they are acting in the course of their trade, business, craft or profession and not as a consumer. The Provider does not sell to consumers, and consumer protection rules (including the right of withdrawal and the consumer dispute resolution schemes) therefore do not apply to the contract between the Provider and the Customer.
- If a person who is not acting in the course of a business places an order, the Provider may cancel it and refund the amount paid in full.
2. Definitions
Terms used in these Terms and Conditions with an initial capital letter have the following meaning:
- Price List is the current price list available at https://www.startupjobs.jp/pricing.
- Offer is the Customer’s job offer published on StartupJobs;
- Terms are these Terms and Conditions;
- Provider is StartupJobs.com s.r.o., Company ID No. 29153786, VAT No. CZ29153786, with its registered office at Šostakovičovo náměstí 1515/5, 155 00 Prague 5-Stodůlky, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section C, Insert 204709;

3. The service
- The Provider publishes the Customer’s Offer on StartupJobs for 30 days. The Offer appears on the home page and at the top of its category.
- Candidates may apply through StartupJobs. The Provider forwards each application to the Customer by email without undue delay. The Provider does not screen, rank or assess candidates.
- The Customer receives a public company profile. The Customer edits the Offer and the profile through a link sent to their email address; there is no account and no password.
- Prices are set out in the Price List. The Provider sells a single service; there are no packages and no additional services.
- StartupJobs also lists Offers that the Provider has collected from publicly accessible career pages of companies. Such listings are free, are not a contractual service, and link to the source. Any company may ask for its listings to be removed at [email protected].
4. Placing an Offer and concluding the contract
- By submitting an Offer, the Customer creates an order, which constitutes a proposal to conclude a contract with the Provider.
- Every paid Offer is read by a person before it is published. Acceptance of the Customer’s proposal, and thus the formation of the contractual relationship, occurs upon approval and publication of the submitted Offer.
- The Provider reserves the right to modify or delete submitted Offers and any other inserted content. Modifications are limited to what is necessary to meet the rules below, and the Customer is informed of them.
- The Customer is entitled to cancel any order within 24 hours of placing it.
- The following rules apply to the content of submitted Offers:
- capital letters are prohibited in titles;
- both the title and the text must be neutral as to gender, race and any other protected characteristic, in compliance with anti-discrimination law and good morals;
- any modifications to the source code are prohibited, and all layout and visual modifications of the listing must be approved and made by the Provider;
- during the validity period of the Offer, its wording may be modified, but the position stated in the listing or the field of the position may not be changed;
- one Offer may contain only one job position.
- The Provider does not verify Customers against any public register and makes no representation that a Customer is who it claims to be.
5. Payment terms
- All prices are governed by the Price List. Prices are stated exclusive of value added tax.
- The Provider accepts payment by payment card via an online payment gateway.
- An invoice is issued for each order. Where payment is made immediately by card, the invoice is issued without a payment due date.
- The Customer agrees to the issuance of invoices in electronic form. An electronic invoice may be delivered by the Provider to the email address given in the order, or, if that is not possible, to another email address used by the Customer.
- The Customer is responsible for the correctness of the billing details they provide. The Provider does not verify them.
6. Free extension until five applications
- If a paid Offer has received fewer than five applications when its 30-day period ends, the Provider extends it by a further 30 days at no additional cost. This repeats while the Offer has fewer than five applications, up to 90 days from its publication in total.
- The Customer does not have to ask for the extension. The Provider identifies such Offers itself and tells the Customer each time the Offer is extended.
- Only applications submitted through StartupJobs are counted. The Provider cannot see candidates who apply to the Customer by any other route.
- The Customer may close the Offer at any time from the management link sent to their email address. Closing it ends the extensions.
- Extensions do not apply where the Offer was removed by the Provider for breach of these Terms.
- There is no refund of the price paid. The Offer runs until it has received five applications, until 90 days have passed since its publication, or until the Customer closes it, whichever comes first.
7. Use of StartupJobs
- The Customer must not publish on StartupJobs any information or data whose content is in conflict with generally binding legal regulations effective in the country of the Customer or in other countries where the service is available, in particular content which:
- infringes the copyright or related rights of third parties,
- infringes the personal rights of third parties,
- violates legal norms aimed at protection against incitement to hatred against any nation, ethnic group, race, religion, class, or other group of persons, or restricting the rights and freedoms of their members.
- The Provider is not a party to the contractual relationships between any User and Customer, nor does it enter into any contractual relationships between Users or Customers. The Provider is not liable for any unlawful acts of the Customer and bears no responsibility for files uploaded by Users.
- The Customer acknowledges that the Provider provides space on StartupJobs for the publication of Offers and, in accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act), is not responsible for the content of information stored by the Customer or for any potentially harmful content or appearance of content published by Customers on StartupJobs. The Provider is not liable for the completeness, accuracy, or truthfulness of any content published on StartupJobs, nor for any unfair competition by the Customer through StartupJobs or infringement of personal or copyright rights.
- The Provider is entitled (but not obliged) to perform preventive checks of information stored or disseminated by the Customer through the service.
- If, in connection with the Customer’s activity on StartupJobs, any third party asserts rights against the Provider, the Customer undertakes to promptly provide the Provider with all documents and materials necessary for the successful conduct of any dispute with such third party. If such third party claims that their rights have been infringed by the storage or dissemination of information stored or disseminated by the Customer in the framework of the service, especially copyright protection rights, or by unfair competition, the Customer undertakes to reimburse the Provider for all reasonably incurred costs in connection with the dispute with such third party.
- The Provider does not guarantee uninterrupted access to StartupJobs, nor the integrity and security of StartupJobs. The Provider is not liable for any damage caused to the User or Customer in connection with accessing and using StartupJobs, including damage arising from downloading data published on StartupJobs, damage caused by interruption of operation, malfunction of StartupJobs, computer viruses, damage as a result of loss of data, profit, or unauthorised access to transmissions and data of the User.
- The Provider reserves the right to restrict or terminate the Customer’s access to StartupJobs at any time, or to interrupt or terminate the provision of services, especially, but not exclusively, due to violation or repeated violation of these Terms or applicable legal regulations.
- In the event of interruption or restriction of access to StartupJobs or interruption or restriction of services, the Customer will be provided with a written justification.
- In the event of termination of access to StartupJobs or termination of provision of services, the Customer will be provided with the reasoning for this decision on a durable medium at least 30 days before the termination takes effect. The notice period does not apply in cases where termination occurs due to a pressing legal obligation, or where the Customer repeatedly violates the Terms or legal regulations.
- The Customer is entitled, independently or in connection with a third party, to offer or promote the use of StartupJobs or other Provider products and services only with the prior written consent of the Provider.
8. Ranking
- The Provider uses ranking on StartupJobs.
- The main parameters of ranking are: paid Offers first, then Offers ordered by the time of their publication. Within each group, no Offer is favoured over another, and the Provider does not accept payment for a higher position beyond the paid Offer itself.
- Filtering chosen by the User takes precedence over ranking.
9. Personal data
- How the Provider processes personal data is described in the Privacy Policy at https://www.startupjobs.jp/privacy.
- Where the Provider forwards an application to the Customer, the Customer becomes the controller of the personal data contained in it and is responsible for its further processing.
10. Copyright, database and licence
- StartupJobs and the content published thereon constitutes a database within the meaning of applicable legal regulations, in particular Directive 96/9/EC on the legal protection of databases and the national law implementing it. The Provider holds all rights to the database.
- By publishing an Offer, the Customer grants the Provider a non-exclusive, territorially unlimited licence to use the Offer and the materials contained in it for the duration of its publication, for the purpose of operating and promoting StartupJobs.
- The Customer declares that they hold all rights necessary to grant that licence.
11. Sanctions
- In the event of a breach of these Terms by the Customer, the Provider is entitled to remove the Offer without a refund and to refuse further Offers from that Customer.
- The right to compensation for damage is not affected by the exercise of the rights under the preceding paragraph.
12. Final provisions
- The Provider may change or supplement the Terms. Any changes to the Terms will always be announced by publication on StartupJobs, and also sent to Customers on a durable medium to the email address given in their most recent order. The relevant version of the Terms becomes effective 15 days after being sent and published. Changes to the Terms do not affect rights and obligations arising during the effectiveness of the previous version.
- If the relationship related to the use of StartupJobs or a contractual relationship between the Customer and the Provider involves an international (cross-border) element, such relationship shall be governed by Czech law. Any disputes arising in connection with such a relationship shall fall within the jurisdiction of the general courts of the Czech Republic.
- These Terms become effective on 2026-09-21.
